What we are
CarePay Michigan is an independent informational resource focused entirely on Michigan's MDHHS Home Help Program. We're based in the Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb County area, and our content is built specifically for that audience — families trying to figure out whether they can become a paid caregiver, and families trying to figure out whether an agency is the better fit.
What we're not
We are not the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and we don't process Medicaid or Home Help applications on the state's behalf. Nothing on this site should be read as an official government communication. We link directly to MDHHS resources wherever it's useful, and we always encourage confirming program specifics with your local MDHHS office.
How we make money
When it's a good fit, we connect families with licensed home care agency partners operating in their county. That connection can generate compensation for us from the agency side — it never costs a family anything to use our guides or submit an inquiry, and we're upfront about this arrangement rather than hiding it in fine print.
Our standard
Every fact on this site — pay rates, eligibility thresholds, timelines — is checked against current MDHHS program information before it's published, and we note when something was last updated. If you ever spot something that looks out of date, let us know and we'll fix it.
